Right, picked up a 1.5 2019 5008 in May 2023, 70 miles in to our 100 mile journey home "Engine Fault: Repair Needed" Adblue light flashing with "Emissions Fault: Starting Impossible in 350 miles"
Should have returned it to dealer and cancelled finance but my partner was due to give birth any day - she gave birth 4 days after picking the car up - and the stress and worry of finding a different car seemed worse than the fault at this time.
Warranty company booked it in with a local garage who unfortunately took nearly 2 weeks to "resolve" the issue which was apparently a software update. Car worked great from June until December.
In December the fault came back with the mileage countdown. Using a basic code reader I saw P20EE which, after spending time on Google meant the fault could be a wide range of things and doesn't help diagnose the fault at all. Car was booked in with another local garage in January '24, who couldn't do anything with the car sp it went to Peugeot in Feb '24 who stated after carrying out a TSB (technical Service Bulletin) they had done a software update and it was good. ÂŁ144 for the diagnostic and update.
April '24 fault came back along with P242F (Particle Filter: Particle Filter Dectected Worn) after looking at Live data i could see the mbar for the DPF was high on Idle and at 3000rpm was near 200mbar. I disconnected each hose from the DPF differential Pressure Sensor in turn and sprayed some DPF cleaner (from GSF Car Parts) into the pressure hoses, reconnected the DPF differential Pressure Sensor and then, whilst watching Live data held the revs at 3000rpm for around 5 mins, letting it Idle every so often then back on the revs. By the end I had 6mbar on Idle and 40mbar at 3000rpm - job done.
Using my diag tool, I carried out actuation tests on the DeNox System with the Urea Injector coming back as having failures, ÂŁ60 on Ebay for a new injector (bit dubious) and a few days wait. Spent 4 hours changing the injector and telling the car it has a new one. Cleared fault codes, rescanned, no DTC's. Live data showed the injector working well and passed the Actuation test.
Diag tool - Launch CRP129X V2
DPF cleaner used - Powatec DPF/ Cat Cleaner X 2.
I watched a lot of O'riellys Auto on YouTube to get a better understanding of the DPF and what i should expect to see when watching Live data.
Any questions give me a shout.
