Dear Forum Members.
Recently I posted my problem about the engine here:

My mechanic inspected and told me it is probably valve problem in the head cylinder so that's why I have a problem when the engine is warm and the two piston stop working.
As the engine is now 14 years old I am thinking about swapping/changing the engine. I found some and they are all rebuilt and fully renovated.
They have the same motorcode (5FY) from the same car (207 SW RC) and the same performance (128KW/174HP) but those engines were produced in 2009,
my engine in the car is produced at the end of 2007. Would it fit in my car? I also know the ECU must be updated for the new engine, but BSI will work with it?
I would like to be reflected about this process.

Thank you for your suggestion and help.

You can't swap ECU without swapping or using virginised BSI or other remedy. They are matched pairs. And without match, the immobiliser will kick in.

PEUGEOT 207 RC (1.6 16V THP) EP6DTS (5FY) 2007 - 2009 128Kw
ECU Bosch MED17.4 2008 Onwards
ABS/SC Teves, Mk 60

Compare to what you have the above.
Thank you.
I will go to the mechanic today to have a photo of BSi and ECU hardware and software versions and i will share here again.

Unfortunately I was not able to go today. But We had a phone call.
He told me if it is the same engine that we replace and the same engine code the ECU and BSI have to work with it and nothing should be even updated.
Only ECU reset needs to be done before the engine starts up.
