Update on my Berlingo, Citroen are paying for a full engine replacement as it's inside the 5yr/150,000km window. No word on when that will happen, it's been sat at the garage 2 months already. My garagiste was aware of the issue and gave me to believe that the chain manufacturer is getting the bill in the end, obviously PSA have cut a deal whereby they stitch up their customers by not issuing a recall, in order to keep the cost to their supplier down

Did they offer you a courtesy car?
No, the total lack of any kind of courtesy will be the core of my claim against the leasing company  The lease company says it's down to the garage, the garage says it's down to Citroen, Citroen says it's down to the leasing company. Or maybe the circle of hell revolves the other way.

Should make no difference whether it's Citroen or Peugeot (or Vauxhall or Opel), it's all Stellantis now anyway, and even Toyota badged versions of the K9 Berlingo with the same engine should be covered.

Regardless of where i bought the car from it is still less than 5yrs old and has sustained significant engine damage due to a substandard chain which peugeot are aware of, so i will be going after peugeot as they put the chain on the car and have since changed the spec as they know it is snapping. Where i bought it from is irrelevant if there is a manufacturers fault!
The l'Argus article quoted above says PSA will pay 100% of the repair cost if the vehicle is under 5 years/150,000km and has been serviced according to the schedule with approved parts and fluids. They have an algorithm to split the cost if these conditions are not met. Obviously this is in French only, because French drivers would set fire to the PSA head office if they tried to get away with making the customer bear the cost, whereas Coventry is already a post apocalyptic wasteland so no British owners are going to waste their time with direct action which nobody would even notice
