Just replaced mine, glow plugs are on rear of engine (windscreen side) need to remove airbox and they are underneath on back of engine.

 

Are you sure you have the 1.4hdi engine? I'm positive they're on the front

 

I have a 2010 1.4hdi, a friend is a mechanic and I watched him do them, took him around 30mins for all 4. Not easily visible once you have airbox off. He did it mostly by feel.

 

Mine is a 2015 plate so they must have changed the position

 

Is yours not the 1.3 then?

There is part of the exhaust manifold in the way plus a load of other stuff.

 

I have no idea on that one buddy, can't even find a 1.4 listed in 2015, it shows 1.3 from 2011 onwards. They only 1.4 it shows is petrol? Have you tried youtube for videos on replacement?

 

Yeah tried it can't find it anywhere. I think it's quite a rare engine in them. I believe it was shared with ford. The 1.3hdi is the fiat engine.

 

I would get a quote from a garage, if it looks that difficult.

 

The 1.4hdi unit is very common shared with Ford and the glow plugs are in the back. Why do you need to replace them anyway? Hardly needed on the hdi units
