hello
i am newbie in pugs
i want to go with turbo on my xu9 and i am afraid of blowing the engine there for i needed to use turbo diesel rod or even pistons
now i have a question
is there any one to have exprience use this combo on non diesel engines?
i decide to use a xu9 crank with turbo diesel rod and pistons from a xud9 406

welcome to every idea could help me
i think standard piston and rod are weak to handle the boost
any exprience??!!

thanks for your help

Back in the day there were oodles of turbo conversions for the XU9 (mainly on the 205 GTi) up to 200ish BHP, and the bottom end and rods seemed more up to it.

The XU9 can be turned up to about 160ish BHP, or nearer 200 or more with bike carbs or bespoke management, so a tubbie seems a bit pointless unless you're planning a mega high output motor.
