I own a 307 diesel 2L hdi 2002, the engine has trouble starting for the first time in the day then its fine after that. it turns over for about 15 seconds on the first time. ive changed the glow plugs but it doesnt seemed to have helped much. can anyone offer me any advice
Check your battery is the correct one for your car you need one with high cold cranking amps I had a similar problem to this with my 407 when I got her I got the battery checked and found it was too small to do the job put a larger one on and bingo she starts after 1 - 2 seconds cranking :thumb:
Yep check or change the battery if its more than four or five yrs old.
The would start no problem without glowplugs. They are barely used on a hdi. That wasn't your problem.
Agree with the two posts pointing to battery. Mine was difficult when I first bought it. Swapped the new bosch battery I'd put on my 306 and now 307 starts first time.
i will change the battery and see how it goes, cheers
