Wipers not working

Anybody have any idea why the wipers would stop working?

They just stopped when i was driving, i have them on auto so just noticed the screen was getting wet.

I checked the fuse, which is ok and was about to replace the wiper motor when i thought it was a bit strange that they just stopped. If the motor went would it not have spluttered for a while?

Does anybody know if there is a relay that might have gone kaput?

Any help much appreciated :thumb:

Do they work on manual? Fuse 17 in engine fusebox supplies wipers via a built in relay but its complicated as this relay switches to earth somehow activating the wipers.
Check for water ingress into the fusebox. Access the motor and wiggle the connecting plug with ign and wipers switched on. If no luck disconnect and re-connect, then check with a multimeter or test lamp check you have a switched live, a permanent live and an earth in the plug. After that its time to try a replacement motor there are probably loads on ebay.

Thanks wynb for the excellent response. :thumb:

They don't work on manual. There's no life in them at all.
I had a look for the relay but it's either not there or hidden behind a couple of green fuses.
No water that I can see in the fuse box.
Tryed wiggling and disconnecting the brown connector but still no joy.
I don't have a multimeter so I'll try a different motor, local scrapper has one.
