peugeot 508 2012 2.0 hdi 140bph. recent fault where only one side works partially. the other side does not move from the parked position. After developing this fault both sides worked properly for a day or so but reverted to one side working partially. also when putting the wipers into service mode (the wipers stay in the upright position so the wiper blades can be changed) only the partially working side goes into the upright position. what the heck is going on? Any advice would be appreciated.

BTW, I've disconnected the battery several times following the BSI reset procedure. That's not helped.

I've linked in a video to show the problem.

Have you checked the wiper to spindle fixing nuts for security ?

I have checked the fixing nut. That seems fine. I've also checked for noises that the motor should be making and also noises that some kind of broken or loose linkage might make. Nothing, that side just seems dead.

Not sure if this adds anything to it, with the car switched off, I can move the partially working wiper from the parked position back up the upright position. It has some resistance but can be moved back and forth.

The other side wiper is stuck at the parked position and won't budge even with some force being applied.

So I've taken off the wiper blades and trim off to take a look at the linkage. It seems fixed on properly. I dont think its seized. Only saying that because with just the ignition on the driver side motor is working but I dont hear anything on the passenger side.

Have you seen this discussion on a 508 wipers? It sounds similar to yours. 508 wiper motor problem
