I have heard a lot of mixed answers to this.

Where is the mileage stored that shows on the odometer, is it on the clock its self or on the ecu?

It's stored in the clocks and the bsi if you swap the clocks for ones with higher milage it will put the higher milage in the bsi and if you swap the bsi for higher milage it will put that in the clocks

Also if you swap the clocks for a set with lower mileage the higher figure in the bsi will overwrite the figure in the clocks.

It is NOT stored in the ecu as above only in the clocks and the BSI and the 2 always match

no it will take the higher mileage of the 2 and update the lower mileage with the higher mileage
