Hello,
I'd be much obliged if anyone could point me in the right direction for how to check the fluid level in an automatic gearbox on a 2005 year 807, V6 engine...
The user manual does not state and I've failed to find any dip stick or similar gauge...
I have a knocking sound from the motor area at standstill and want to check the level ASAP.

Regards,
Johan

I have a 4-cyl engine and the AL4 gearbox, not sure if the same gearbox is fitted to 6-cyl engines.

However, on the AL4 gearbox the level is cheked by opening the "level check" drain plug. That is, the drain plug is "double" where the inner plug (19 mm) is at the apropriate level and the "outer" plug is for draining. This has to be done with the oil at about 60 degrees.

Oil is refilled in the filler hole (8 mm square) on top of the gearbox, near the gear stick linkage. Fill 0.5 liters at the time, then see if there's a steady stream out of the level check hole. When there's only a drip, the level is ok.
