Have noticed a burning smell inside and out. Under the bonnet there is black soot but I don't even know what the name of part is that's causing it?

the bracket is to the left of the turbo as you look at it , behind the heat shield , peugeot know about this and have an updated bracket for it.

Managed to get about 3/4 of a turn on the 10mm bolt where the oily bit is.
 Thats the turbo oil feed pipe...If you over tighten that 10mm bolt
you could strip the threads on the turbo..

Your top dpf to turbo exhaust clamp is leaking...Peugeot have a modified clamp which should do the job....as Betty said maybe thightening the clamp may help.

No 10 in diagram is the clamp you need to tighten/replace...;)
(btw this clamp is under the heatsheild)

I have some problem on mine, although no-where near as bad as the OP.
Is replacing the clamp an easy job to do?
Looks fairly straight forward.....any advice/opinions appreciated.

Well I just failed at getting the heat shield off, even with a Haynes showing me where the bolts are. Seems you have to jack up to move the radiator.

Still, I gave it a wipe clean, so will probably be alright now :shrug2:

Thanks for everyone's help identifying the problem though.
