Had the car for coming up to 2 months now and overall it's been great so far.

That said I noticed the rust bubble on the rear hatch as soon as I got it home and recently spotted the extra paint defects on the drivers side including a really poor touch up job at the back of the drivers door.

The one that looks like a chip is actually lifting under the paint.

Still waiting on the dealer to address the corrosion on the boot and as they missed that there was no hope for the other stuff.

It's disappointing as its just a faff trying to get them to acknowledge their own pre-delivery inspection failures. I know I should have had a better look around on collection but it was outside and raining heavily.

Anyone else have any paint problems?

Was it a demonstrator and had some knocks?

Ask the dealer for details of who has driven it.

Take it back and demand answers looks like a bodge job. The corrosion and under paint surface imperfections should be covered by the paintwork warranty.

If you're not satisfied contact trading standards.

Was a brand new car with delivery miles only - think it was one a few bought to get the group over a sales target and get a discount for the quarter frankly.

Dealer is now due to take it back for repair, any arguments about the doors paint are mute given they missed the rust bubble at eye line level. That said they have been dragging their heals with it.

Will update once the works finally done.

I have seen a couple of posts about imperfections in paint and 9 months on I have started to get issues now with the badge losing its blue on the emblem and something under the paint on the roof. My main issue I have is I lease my car and I don't want to be penalised for the issues with the paint not being done properly.

Always inspect a new car very carefully. If it's raining or pitch black in the middle of winter or whatever, demand to inspect it inside.
Never accept a car just like that. If found later, they dealer might claim that the car was fine at delivery.

I think there are two sides to your comment Bejje in that general stone chips or marks yes it should be inspected carefully, but the above posts are general defects which clearly are not due to damage but poor workmanship/materials which regardless if the dealer says it was fine when it was delivered, time says otherwise and is covered under warrenty. Took 9 months before I had problems with mine but it appeared fine when I collected it.

Looks very similar to what happened to mine, and one argument I had (didn't need it as Peugeot were more than happy to replair it) was its happened under the paint/lacquerer. This also happened to my car at least 6 months after I had taken it so had started when I first picked it up.
