Hi

I have a 62 plate 508. One reason I bought it was for the media centre, which I like. But I just can't configure the contents of my USB right. No matter what I do the artist names won't show up, they're all marked as 'Unknown'.

A small but annoying thing. Any suggestions?

Don't gave a 508 so someone that does might say if file and folder names matter.
What have you tried? Are you positive that the tags are filled in in the audio files? What format/encoding files are you using?
If mp3, there are 2 versions of tags, anything reasonably modern most likely to want v2 tags.

Is the USB stick correctly formatted? Needs to be FAT32. Or perhaps FAT16. Mine is FAT32.

Hi, try to type the artist's name in the field called "Contributing artists" on file properties/detailes. It works fine for me.

I'd guess the MP3's need the correct ID tag information.

Along with the contributing artist tag I would put the Artist name in the following tags...

Album Artist (if not a compilation)
