Hi, just servicing my 2.7 hdi 407 (coupe), drained the oil and changed the filter, no problems, however, the sealing sump washer supplied by the main dealer is different to the one on the car, which I expect is the original.

The one on the car is a silver solid washer with what looks like a rubber O ring seal against the tread. The supplied one is the standard hollow compression copper type. Any thoughts/advice?

The second question is what are the torque values for the plastic filter canister, and the sump drain bolt?? This is an early 2009 model.

Would like to finish this job off tonight, so thinking of re fitting the original sump washer, and leaving the canister at about 5Nm.

Regards Ian

Hi Wayne,

Thanks mate that's brilliant, I took a punt and gave them a good old fashioned tug with the socket wrench, pored the oil in and put the sump shield back on.

I recon the sump plug will be OK but I'll get the torque wrench on the canister housing ASAP,as I was more cautious with that.

Out of interest where did you get the info from?

Ian
