Hello. I have a 2010 1.4 Diesel 207 with 87K on the clock and for the last few months I have noticed a sort of whooshing noise when accelerating.
It first started when accelerating in 3rd and didn't really last long. But now it seems to do it a lot more often in 3rd, 4th and 5th gear even at regular accelerating and not just hard accelerating.

My guess is the turbo is on it's way out or it is a split pipe somewhere?

Inside the exhaust tip is very black with what I guess is carbon too. Should it be like this?

Many thanks!

Whooshing noise is often a split or loose hose the noise normally gets louder as reve rise and boost increases.

Failing turbo is often a siren type of noise that rises and falls in pitch in line with revs

Ahh thank you. What pipes should I be checking for splits?
