I've just arrived at work and as I pulled into the car park the "Top up engine coolant" message popped up on my HUD. I've checked under the bonnet and it's deffinitely way below the line. But because my engine is still hot I can't see just how dry it is as I can't take the cap off.

I do not have any engine coolant in my car and the nearest shop is 3 miles away. How long will my car run for once the "Top up engine coolant" message is displayed?

My car is a 51 plate 2.0L HDi.

Any help/ advice would be fantastic.

Thanks,

Sam

So I managed to get some anti freeze and top up my engine coolant, yey!

However I still get the message telling me my engine coolant level is low. despite the fact that I put some in earlier today.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks.

Okay thanks guys.

I have booked it in with a mechanic later this week, hopefully they'll be able to fix it!
