Some confusion as to what this engine has and what is required after 75k miles
My daughter has the car elsewhere at the mo so I cant look at it?
I understand it has a timing chain which should be changed around 95k miles or 10 years - is this so?
How many drive belts does it have and what do they drive?
Water pump
Air Con
Alternator
Anything else
When should it/they be replaced?
Any clarification would be great
Thank you

Timing Chain has no change interval listed, however the chain is a known weak point so does need changing as soon as it starts to get noisy. Some people change them just to be on the safe side once they get to 50K or so as if they fail they destroy the engine. There is one Aux belt which drives alternator, air con compressor and water pump

Hi windy1603 - thanks for that - are you aware of a detailed video or manual as to how to replace the timing chain and aux belt. Having looked briefly at a youtube video it seems that quite a few specific tools are needed to replace the timing chain - do you know where these are available to hire or purchase - I'm just north of London - postcode EN6 - thanks
