Car starts fine since £800 job to replace dmf.

It's now started to piss out diesel all over the M56.

Here's the grisly story for today :

7.15 am - jump out of bed ready for work;

7.45 am - start car and head down M56;

8.00 am - notice an oily film forming on rear window that won't go away;

8.30 am - waiting at traffic lights in the middle of Warrington, notice some signs of smoke which I assume is car in front of me.

9.00 am - arrive at work - notice diesel all over the car park

9.15 am - green flag arrive - notice dislodged fuel return pipe - refit - leak stops

9.45 am - driving down the A55 - oily film reappears car stalls

9.46 am - call out green flag again - towed back to garage

10.30 am - arrive at garage explain problem

12.00 noon - fule pipe reconnected - car starts all dash lights off

1.00 pm - do a bit of shopping for tea - car hesitates and stalls in Chester City centre - blocking all through traffic.

1.15 pm - abused by other drivers because I have broken down.

1.30 pm - phone garage who turn up with tow car and replacement car

2.30 pm - I drive off in the replacement car - see my crap 307 being towed again to the diesel specialist.

Fortunately the 307 is still under warranty.

If anything goes wrong after the warranty - its a one way trip to the scrap yard. Its only done 83k.

I'll say it again - 307's have major reliability issues.

On the plus side - the replacement car is an MG ZT with diesel bmw engine.

It looks 'very tasteful' - sat on the driveway. Metallic british racing green un all.

Perhaps they'll give it to me as a replacement for the 307?

The tea was just awful

Got the car back today - turns out there was fuel issue. The fuel tank was empty.

Slightly embarrassing to say the least.

I of course blamed a faulty fuel gauge.
