The Engine does not start

Hello,
I have an very serious issue with my Peugeot 307 2001 2.0HDI engine code: RHY.
I have been living with this issue for more than 10 years but it happened only 1-2 per year.
The printed curcuit of the ingnition key was changed in the beginning of this year by an official Peugeot service and the issue appears very often but radomly, for example: 1-2 per month or after 1.5 month.
The issue is:
  • I start the inginition process
  • lights are visible on the dashboard
  • There is a click sound from the engine part
  • After the light go out
  • I start the engine but it just rollling and rolling
I called the Official service and they came to the spot and they reseted the computer of my car but after the issue appears again randomly, maybe 2weeks or 1 month again. One of my friends suggested to put down the cabel of the battery and wait for several minutes and after no problem the engine is working!
But this is not a good solution for me but its an alternative.
Have anybody had the same issue?
Could anybody suggest something?
Thank you for your answer in advance
Kind regards

Check all connections are not compomised i.e earth points and battery terminals. Then go onto the engine itself and check each and every connection on it to for security and condition. Once all the basics are done then consider going into the systems one by one.

Hello,
Thank you for your reply!
I have checked the earth point and battery cables with OBD device, voltmeter device and lastly manual checking.
I have found no issue on them. Do you have any other advice?
Thank you
The click sound could be from the starter motor so perhaps that item could do with a check. They are a pain to remove though!
As I heard from 307 owner that clicking sound is important and the engine should not be started before that sound. Is it true right?
"I start the engine but it just rolling and rolling" What exactly does that mean as I cannot decipher the english?
I meant when I am starting the engine with the ignition key the starter engine is rolling the main axis. But the engine does not start
Is it a good battery regards the cca capacity of the battery?
In the last two weeks I could test with a brandd new battery. Unfortunately the issue happened again yesterday with me when the new battery was installed in to the car.
Could be a weak starter motor that is not able to get the speed required to enable the engine to start.

Thank you for your answer. I will check the starter motor as soon as possible. Do you have any other idea/hint/advice?
In your first entry you stated that your friend advided you to "put down the cable and wait". What exaxtly does that mean?
I am sorry for my bad English.
I meant I deinstall the cables of the battery. After wait 5-15 mins and install them back.
The main point here as my friend said: when the connection is lost between the car and the battery then the computr of the car will be reseted.
Have the batterys CCA capability tested as it is this feature of the battery that provides the "muscle" to turn the starter at the speed it needs to get the engine up and running. Just checking the voltage is no indication of the batteries condition. I have had batteries showing 12 volts but have no power to light a bulb!
You may have a faulty engine fuse box. There are two relays (R1 and R2) in the fuse box that often fail or become intermittent. If that happens the electrical power power to fuel injectors will be cut off. The engine fuse box is a sealed unit so if a relay fails the whole fuse box has to be replaced.

Do you have access to a multimeter?
