Hi Peeps. a long post incoming :p

Asking for some help, as i'm really confused. After some heavy rain(and rain all day long) yesterday, when I started driving, then the Airbag failure came up and right after abs failure. Then after driving about 10 minutes, the "Fuel Tank Acces open" failure keeps going on/off several times. Then disappears for som minutes and then returns. It's pretty annoying as the "beb beb" comes everytime, and its 10/15 times like the switch is going on/off with 0,5 seconds interval. It have never showed any of these failures before, so i'm thinking it's the rain as I could hear a lot of water in the sill/frame under the car in drivers side. Is it possible that theres is a abs failure (broken ring or something) and it then shortens out to the other failures, as the light/failures often comes when changing speed and braking and the lights are not showing when starting the car but first if I brake or accelerating. Where is the connector to the fuel access door located so I can disable that noise until I have time to investegate?

And by the way . Can I take off the abs computer to test and see if its all related to abs failure, and drive with it disconnected?

Water ingress in the footwell on the rhs of the car is a common fault. It floods the 2 harness connectors under the carpet and causes all sorts of issues. Lift the carpet and have a looksee...

Youre right! I have swimmingpool under the drivers carpet/mat. Where is all that water coming from? Took the 4/5 connectors up from the "sea" and a lot of failures disappeared! Only ABS failure left, is the connector one of them? (It reportage failure on both rear wheels, so Think its the water too and not an actual failure) THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! (Now just have to take the whole mat out and dry it - Will take long time I Think)

Three most likely places for water ingress.

1 - windscreen seal, especially if corroded around the edge.

2 - blocked door drain. The door fills up with water and spills out of the door via one of the large holes behind the door card and runs down the inner lip of the sill. Suspect this if the flat of the carpet is wet but dry further up. Easy to check and cure. just waggle the door and see if you can hear water sloshing about! If so, open door, find the drain holes and poke them clear with a small screwdriver etc..

3 - Blocked drain in the sunroof, if fitted. these are fiddly but doable to clear. with the roof open pour some water into the lip and wee if it drains. should be a drain in all 4 corners, so might have to move car several times to find the right tilt. Then its a case of peeling away the door seal(s) and maybe even unscrewing a sun visor, then carefully peeling back the roof trim until you can pull the plastic drain tube off it's spigot. Be careful not to damage the head lining though. A compressor of some kind is needed to blow through the pipe to clear the blockage, along with some sort of pipe to connect it leak free to the drain. In theory you could blow down it yourself, but if you have that kind of lung power then you must have lungs made of leather! Some people have suggested you can simply feed compressed air down the appropriate hole in the corner of the sunroof. What is most likely to happen is the pipe will blow off the spigot inside the roof. You wont realize this though until the first downpour or drive through carwash, when the back of your neck is in for a very sudden surprise!

Didn't see you had responded, didn't get notification.. but, yes, my wagon had this issue, was throwing up a rh/rear abs sensor fault, along with a few other intermittent faults to do with lights. Both plugs were showing corrosion on the contacts so I ended up cutting the plugs off and soldering/heat shrinking the wires back together and all issues gone. Still have not figured where the water got in as nothing has returned as yet. Still dry under there. Will have to wait for the winter rains as we are having a drought here right now. :(
