Hi,

anyone else have this issue? When pressing the button to close the tailgate, it'll go down all the way but it won't actually lock. It'll beep once and open a little bit. Nothing is stuck or caught between the tailgate and the car, so that can't be the issue. It only does this sometimes, and I'm wondering if others are experiencing this as well with the 3008 SUV.

Thanks.

Had no problems with my tailgate. Intermittent faults are so hard they never show when you take the car to the dealer, I would take it anyway I am not sure but I think they can see how many times its been opened the speed its opens/closes this might show the locking problem. Like I said not sure on this sure I read it somewhere.

To me it's a gimmick but in Australia the diesel is only going to be available in GT model which has it but grip control is NOT included.
Ridiculous!
Not a gimmick, for me its dead handy I often have my hands full of radio control plane/helicopter gear so much easier now wave foot under bumper boot opens put it all in. I'm loving it.

But grip control is an option here in the UK too. It doesn't come as standard with the GT.

If you've ever been to a supermarket and bought enough things to fill 2 heavy shopping bags you will understand why the auto tailgate activated by foot is so useful.
I know but the diesel should have it as standard, at least on the top model GT, and for me tricks include park assist for girls.

I think a lot of people will prefer the bigger wheels and summer tyres for uk roads, so having grip control as mandatory would put people off. Also it really isn't needed in the uk for on road driving, and if you genuinely do off road you'd be better with an awd car.

Ground clearance, higher profile tyres with appropriate tread and grip control is all you need in the UK north.
AWD is increasingly being seen as a Subaru obcession fad, unless you want to go greenlaning in mud.

Tricks? Are you suggesting that the functionalities provided in a car to make people's lives easier are tricks for girls?

I'm assuming then that we should do away with the satnav because as men we should be reading maps and possibly taking compass readings to help us to get to places? As men we shouldn't have any auto braking system, surely a man knows how to apply brakes. Power assisted steering is for girls! Surely as men we can turn that steering wheel without help from the car!!?? Automatic gears, surely those are for girls, real men should be able to change gear on their own etc etc

Come on love, these things are here to make life easier, they're not tricks and girls, boys, men and women are happy to use them!

Embrace things that make people's lives easier! It's called progress, climb aboard and enjoy.

"Park assist for girls" is a rather sexist comment, Nagaman. In all of my years of driving I've never not been able to park my car whether it's in a car park or at the side of the road and that's without park assist. I can give most men a run for their money where parking is concerned and although I realise that some females struggle with parking, so do some men. As far as I'm concerned by the time I've fiddled around setting up the park assist, I've got the car parked and I'm on my way.
