Hi
I'm in the process of replacing front shocks, springs, and strut bearing. I've assembled everything and tightened the strut nut so that the metal cap which fits over the bump stop and gaiter is tight. The new bearing feels very tight when rotating by hand so just wondering if I;ve overtightened this, or is this normal? I cant tighten to torque as I don't have correct tools.

Would appreciate any advise
Cheers

Thanks again for reply. Yes the spring is seated correctly.
Can I just confirm we are talking about the same locking nut? The one I was asking about is the nut that locks the seat and bearing to the shock.

I find it's easier to get everything secured hand-tight (top nut, nuts/bolts to the hub etc), and when everything looks right and secure, tighten to the specified torque.

As madbadandold said, if it's not correct, the geometry will be way out. I'd have the geometry checked anyway to make sure everything is as it should be
