Hi guys and gals,

I filled my 04 407 1.6 HDi with diesel yesterday. Ever since, the fuel gauge is registering way past the full mark. When I turn off the ignition off, it drops back to 3/4 (for it's empty position I guess). It seems to be misaligned. The trip computer is registering DTE and MPG values correctly, so I surmise from that that the sender unit is working correctly.

Things I've tried include:

- Opening the fuel cap to release air.
- Removing the battery for 20 mins in the hope that this would reset things. Even with the power removed completely, the gauge sat at 3/4.

Could the needle have moved on it's spindle? Can I take the fascia apart and reset the needle by hand?
