The clear plastic cover for the near-side number plate bulb has somehow come off my 107 (13 reg). In the manual it just says how to change the bulb by taking the bulb holder out not what to do if the cover falls off. Any ideas what adhesive to use to glue it back on please? Will any plastic adhesive do?

Thanks.

I'm not familiar with the type of plastic used on this light unit, it may be marked on it as manufacturers are supposed to identify materials used in their vehicles so they received the right recycling at the end of life. If you can't identify it I would tend to use epoxy resin as that is a bit of a cure all but would not recommend the stuff from the pound shop as some of it doesn't cure properly. Problem with plastics is that there isn't really a one adhesive fits all, you really need to know what plastic it is and use the right adhesive and the usual impact adhesives either won't bond or stay bonded for long. Super glue isn't much better either unless you use the addition prep compound but that can be hard to obtain. If you use epoxy be careful as it doesn't come off your clothes and is not particularly good for your skin either. The original bond will almost certainly be an ultrasonic weld which are not the most reliable of joints. I am assuming the lense is not supposed to come off, by the way.

I did, but it wasn't that. Thanks for the suggestion though. Someone's just said they fixed something similar with Bostic all-purpose glue and it did the trick, so I'll go with that and see what happens.
