I recently purchased a 307 2.0 hdi and am encountering starting problems ,The car turns over ok but takes a while to start and when it does there is lots of white smoke ,it then takes 5 or ten minutes for the car to run properly but once running all is fine .it has been in to peugeot twice and on the second time they did a compression test and cylinder one is a lot lower than the others they suspect a bent con rod caused by a knackered turbo .
I have stripped the engine and got the head removed but on first visual inspection everything seems ok apart from lots of carbon in the inlet side of the manifold .The turbo is leaking oil but would'nt it be more obvious if it was a bent con rod ie some scoring of the bore or more play in the piston????
