Hey all ,just looking for a bit of advice if you can help. Have a 307 2.0 HDI SW which has been troublesome starting. It was turning over but could take 15 seconds to start. Recently I put a new battery on it in the hope that was the problem .A local mechanic came to look at it while I was out at work and said its the starter motor or could be the glow plugs. If either of these , are they something I could tackle myself. Have done starters on older cars I have owned , but they were easy to get to. Glow plugs? Any advice cheers

In addition to this info , the light which in think is the glow plug ready light on the dashboard goes out within a second of turning the ignition on. Have been reading other posts and some seem to say there can also be a problem with the glow plug relay. If the light goes out that cancels that theory out doesn't it? (and the glow plugs)?
