Looking around there seems to be equal chance that my "click, no turn" starter motor is either a wire problem or solenoid (on the starter) problem, so going to change the starter first. Initially it was only when hot, now it's most of the time...does this cast any light? It has done 239,000 ks after all.
So spent a few hours on the weekend figuring how to get it out. With no joy.
It's at the back of the engine, and from over or under I cannot figure it out.
Please can anyone shed light on the trick? Getting to the bolts seems almost impossible!
I have a 2005 1.6 ltr HDi diesel

Starter Motor...

Thanks Monty,
I wish there was room to swing a hammer!
I possibly was not plain.
It has never not started, sometimes takes 5 min or so of trying.
I believe that the starter solenoid is dying and have ordered a replacement.
The key part of my post was seeking help with access/how to, as getting to it has me stumped...

the starter

Hey Gibbo
Somehow I just knew it was gonna be my fault. Lol
Its now happening when car is cold ie first thing in am so I'm figuring not temp related
The car now has 239000 ks on it, and its a 2005 model. So I'm pretty confident its a new starter required. Have ordered online from interstate about half local price and a third Peugeot price. I see rebuilds for £48.00 in the UK.
So going back to the op has anyone changed one yet. Access is a challenge.
David.
