Hello, I have Peugeot 307 2.0 HDi (79kw) and I've noticed lately when I drive in gears especially in 1st 2nd and 3rd there is a noise while putting on acceleration (from 1000rpm to 3000rpm its the loudest, or when slowly accelerating, but the loudest it comes while letting of the gas pedal in gear) sounds like whining noise that is coming most likely from gearbox , it completely ruins driving experience. Especially when letting of gas pedal in gear.
My first thought is that it comes from shaft not sure which one perhaps from gearbox shaft or it's just some weared out bearing?
Few years ago I had Peugeot 306 1.4 petrol and I think I had whining noises very similar to this one coming from not sure which part of engine.
To be honest I think this is a common problem with 200k+ mileage on Peugeot's with that high mileage
If anyone has a thought or knows what can be the problem and could help to fix or reduce that noise by saying which part may be needed for a change, it would be a breath saver for me.
Could be the time for gearbox oil change?
