That 21.04;62;54 is the Feb 24th versionIf you go into System Information then "view versions" IIRC, then the screen showing the version numbers of the software is displayed.
System Version: 21.04;62;54_NAC-r0
Mapping: 3.0.1-r0
Risk Areas: <none>
It would be mental all 3008 drivers having to go to a dealer 4 times a year to get maps updated, doing it ourselves so much easier, needs to be a way if a user buggers the update somehow there is a way to recover. I would also like to be able to update the system firmware myself this is more risky if it goes wrong you could brick the whole system, but again with a recovery program it should be made possibleI was told yesterday that map updates would be updateable by ourselves, just isn't available yet.
Slightly off topic but can someone explain what "my Peugeot" is please, does the dealer have to set it up when we collect the car or can we do it ourselves whenever we feel like it? I've tried googling my Peugeot and all I get is a website for Palmers Motor Company so is it not a website and more like an app? TIA.I see reading a French forum they can now download the firmware and map updates from My Peugeot. Wonder how long before we can do the same, Least it shows we don't have to go running to our dealers every time a update is released, least the French don't.
I did breath a sigh of relief when it came up update successful. I've updated firmware on loads of things, trick is to let others do it first so you know it works, there is usually a recovery file if things do go wrong. Peugeot mechanics must have one in case it goes wrong when they are updating carsBrave man, I don't think I'll try, as it's bound to be a disaster if it's anything technical!!!
I've just had a look at the French version of mypeugeot and there looks to be tons of info on it compared to the UK version. Just a pity I can't speak French. The pages translate but the demo videos are a little difficult to follow. I wonder why we don't have a similar site in English or do we and I've missed it!!Wow Peugeot are really pumping these updates out, there was another system update on the French My Peugeot today, no change log, probably bug fixes. I'll load it on my car tomorrow
V.21.05.68.24_NAC-r0 du 06/04/2017
I'll try those...never tried subtitles on YouTube. Cheers.Yorky, if you are talking about the short tutorials on various functions and equipment in the 3008, these are all on You Tube, and most of them have English subtitles that can be switched on. Hope you get good news regarding your GT Line!
Word of caution for those looking at the French My Peugeot when you first log in it will show updates available for the car a message on the car bottom left click on the date it then takes you to the download page for maps firmware and licence I have no idea what the licence is I didn't download it everything for me loaded to the car without problem, once you have clicked on the date the site assumes you have downloaded the updates and wont show on the home page again. These updates are really not hard to do extract the file to a USB stick plug it in the car mine comes up media not recognised but after a few seconds says update proceed yes or no. Each update map and firmware take about half an hour you have to do each separately, download each file from My Peugeot France, its a slow download and took about 40 minutes on my 100mb connection. I always do firmware first to a USB load that onto car once done it says remove USB and the system reboots that's it, delete that file from your USB stick extract the map file and its the same procedure. I have just put the V.21.05.68.24_NAC-r0 on my car the screen did go blank for a good few minutes before showing Firmware updating and a status bar also I got a message Park assist fault no need to worry about this its just disabled for the update.
I think UK dealers are soon going to get fed up doing these updates each one takes half an hour firmware and then map at least 1 hour total and require the engine to be running it says this when the updates start with the latest updates even saying not to move the car. Updating firmware and maps was always intended to be done by the user the only way you can bugger it up is to remove the USB stick to soon or turn the engine off, I imagine if something does go wrong the system will just roll itself back to existing firmware, I have no intension of testing to prove this lol.
There will be lots of you reading this that are happy with their cars and have no interest in updating anything that's fine. I am nerdy lol and will update to every new release if Peugeot has gone to the expense and trouble to release new FW it must be for a reason even if its not obvious.
Sorry this has turned into a essay, I'm going to shut up now lol
1. I am not sure is the honest answer, it does say that on the screen once the update starts, do these modern cars turn off the ignition if a engine start is not detected after a certain amount of time. They were saying on the French forum to do it with the car moving, but this 68.24 Keep the engine running and don't move the car on the screen when FW starts, I just did as it said.I’m like you Fontie and like to keep everything up to date software wise.
A couple of questions:
1. Why does the engine have to be running, will the update not start if it isn’t?
2. Is it not possible to update via WI-FI?
