hi, ı want to change my nac system. I have C5 Aircross with NAC Wave 3: Firmware 31.09.46.62, Maps 12.0.0. can we switch this nac to NAC Wave 4: Firmware 42.01.72.32, Maps 7.0.0
The NAC Wave 3 is a special case, the firmware/software was discontinued and they released a special firmware+map update that "converts" it to NAC Wave 4 - a NAC Wave 3 hardware running NAC Wave 4 firmware. You just need to download and install the latest 42.03.33.42 for NAC Wave 3, a 22GB package that also contains the 10.0.0 european map.

You can find it here: NAC/RCC Updates - Wave 3

This will install the 42.03.33.42 firmware first, leaving the system without map, and after the reboot it will install the 10.0.0 map for NAC Wave 4.

After this, you'll need to use NAC Wave 4 for future updates, currently using an old 9.0.0 european map, so you won't need to install that...

For those who already have an NAC Wave 4 system, they could also install that 10.0.0 european map in the NAC Wave 3 firmware+map package.

The map update (for Wave 4) can only be installed after the firmware convertion (Wave 3 to Wave 4). And to install the firmware, you need the digital license/key in the USB flash drive or your car connected to some network to download it (TomTom live/connect services active and available, car connected to WiFi access point or your phone thetered trhough bluetooth). Without that key you'll see the "hardware incompatible error".

Thank you for your answers, I have 2 questions. how can ı find digital license/key or is it possible to find or buy and where can ı buy? the second question is do you have any link about TomTom live/connect services active and available. beside this after my car connects to some network how can ı download it. do you have any explanation.

@mehmethakan :

You could download the license using the official "Peugeot Update" software (when it works...). The key is free, but you need it to be able to update the firmware and it's associated to your car's VIN (read your infotainment system serial number) and the firmware version you want to install, so you need a new one for each firmware version.

You can check the TomTom service status at the notification button (next to the cog/hours on the top right of the touchscreen), it should be "active" and "available". You can also verify if you can see the "TomTom Traffic" message in the bottom right of the satnav screen. Those services may not be available in your country.

If you can't download the license or you can't connect your car to some data network, PM me your VIN and I can download the key for you.

Dear friend thank you for your consideration. actually ı have c5 aircross without nac when ı bought the car but I changed my car RCC with Nac thats why my VIN will not work to download from official site. beside this I checked TomTom service status at the notification button (next to the cog/hours on the top right of the touchscreen) but as you said there is nothing related to Navigaiton. I think in my country this is not working. I tried to connect the car via wifi by using my cell phone but I can't connect. how can ı solve this bloody problem. ı am really stuck. ıf you have any brillant idea, I would be happy to hear it.

@mehmethakan :

  • Insert an empty FAT32 formatted USB flash drive;
  • Press the cog/hours (top right corner);
  • OPTIONS (lower left);
  • System settings (first option);
  • System info (lower right);
  • View;
  • Export config.

It should create 2 files on the USB flash drive, with the infotainment system serial number in the file name. What are those file names?

First one is: instkey_0D010F1171D4F21F1B25
Second one is: packageslist_0D010F1171D4F21F1B25

So, 0D010F1171D4F21F1B25 is the serial number of your infotainment system. The 001315031622734386 is the UpdateID/MediaVersion of the 42.03.33.42 firmware version for NAC Wave 3, as you can see here - NAC/RCC Updates - Wave 3

You can download the license/key at https://majestic-web.mpsa.com/mjf00...b/rest/LicenseDownload?mediaVersion=001315031622734386&uin=0D010F1171D4F21F1B25
Then extract the firmware to the USB flash drive and copy this file, "license_0D010F1171D4F21F1B25_001315031622734386.key", to a "\license" folder.

do I need to copy licence/key file in folder named licence that I will create in usb flas drive or in swl folder (of course it is also in flash drive)

For all purposes, you've now a NAC Wave 4 - NAC/RCC Updates - Wave 4
If you also did update the map with the pack, you should have version 10.0.0 of the European map. There isn't that map as standalone, so until version 11.0.0 for NAC Wave 4 is released, you don't need to upgrade.

@rui.saraiva

Can you help me find the latest version for one of those exceptions you mentioned? I'm from Argentina and I belive I have one of those "RCC AIO" devices in my 308. My actual firmware is 67.02.24.22_RCC-r0 (date: 2020-03-23). Searching via VIN Number or via Peugeot APP gives no results to me.

Thanks!

Could you please send me your VIN in PM/Conversation.
The Peugeot App usually only works with the NAC_EUR, RCC_EU and map-eur (European map for the NAC).

From the myPeugeot mobile app it looks like I have i) Nav & Map, and ii) Touchscreen updates to install. I only recently bought a used '18 3008 1.6 petrol EAT6 - and I'm a little nervous (probably unnecessarily) about shoving a usb into the car, especially when there are stories of some coming pre-installed with viruses 😬.

Do the updates add much functionality? Are they at all necessary? Will the updates be performed at next service if I go to Peugeot?

Thanks 👍
