of course different software, the point is to confirm the introduction in the UK of dual broadcast of the now nationwide DAB+ service and the stepped back DAB service (like plant rock moved to DAB+ as did many others) in Feb 2016, caused many DAB/BAB+ tuner to wobble on their foundations, and ONLY started to behave after the required software updates were applied...
This week Ford release an update to 2018 to 2020 focus' with sync 3 and for many its broken the DAB+ logos. Quite clearly these bodging halfwits that write modern software have no idea what they are doing - seems the fix is to manually reload DAB File: 1U5T-14G658-AF_1598633324000.TAR.GZ from a USB stick
dodgy sat nav devices... some halfwit must have written the list wrong
my sister's focus needs the gap when nearly all other devices don't (for that same address) - had the same fault with the same addresses on a Mondeo
But as this Peugeot reboot problem didn't happen until late 2019, it clearly has nothing to do with that. Different software, different problem.
But irrespective of the cause, the solution is to update the firmware.
Also if you use a WELSH postcode you'll need to change the country to WALES and back to ENGLAND to use an ENGLISH Postcode - same applies for SCOTLAND. You would have thought the SATNAV would be UK but it's not - I found our when I had to go to Wrexham and it wouldn't recognise the destination postcode

Hey all, new to the forum as I have just bought my first Peugeot. 2016 308 GT Line.
I too have the problem of the screen resetting and have been directed to this thread to fix it. How do I go about getting updated firmware? I tried the Peugeot website but it only gives me updated mapping!

The firmware is at the beginning of this thread to download - 5.43 is the latest version. FAT32 USB pen required.

In terms of process, oncve the USB is good to go, do I just plug it in? Can't see a firmware specific guide?

Unzip the file and put the folder on the fat32 USB. Switch engine on an leave running, put the USB into the port and just wait till it says do you want to update. Click yes and just wait till the process is done( be very patient and wait for around 10 to 15mins) and will eventually say do you want to update again, but then say no as its already done- you will notice both firmwares are the same.

Thanks! So should it be the SMEG_UPG_PLUS file as the root, not its constituents like with the maps update?

Have you just tried the Peugeot website? If you put your Vin number in the maps are free.

Yes but the free maps on Peugeot website generate the activation code for you.

Why do via that method when the Peugeot website will generate the code for you?
I have maps 42096 for the SMEG+ - happy to generate your activation key if you PM me your VIN number. Dependent on when you send it, will depend when I can generate - but will get back to you.
Sent you a PM with my VIN details, no hurry as heading to bed
Keencyclist - couldn't find how I created it via the Peugeot site
