Hi there guys,

My peugeot 406 hdi 2.0 (110bhp version w/intercooler) I've just bought from my dad has very poor acceleration below 3000rpm. I've replaced the MAF sensor with a £31 jobbie from ebay, and whilst it increased performance a little, its still not spot on. It's most odd - if you gradually apply the throttle, like hold it at half for a few seconds, then go full throttle, it picks up well and has FULL torque and power. But if you get straight on the throttle, it has no torque at all, hardly even pulls itself along. Getting slightly worried about it...

Any help would be much appreciated!

Many thanks
Benjamin

Are your expectations calibrated correctly? Even in top condition they were as sluggish as a fully laden milk float driving uphill in the snow.

Not wishing to knock eBay but I would only buy either genuine part or original equipment supplier for parts such as sensors etc. I've tried the eBay route for MAF's and lambda sensors and usually have to replace fairly soon after.
