I've removed the EGR valve from my 206 after the RAC man checked the fault code when the engine warning light came on. I've thoroughly cleaned it including putting it through the dishwasher twice (don't tell the wife) but i can't seem to blow into it. It lets a tiny little bit of air through when i blow really hard but not a lot at all.

Is this normal? I don't want to replace it only to get the same problem and have to take the car apart again!

Update - found this thread in case anyone else wonders if this is normal. Turns out it is. If you suck through it and depress the piston then it lets the air through

Hybrid/Tech - Quick EGR valve question - If you remove an EGR valve from the car and blow into one of the 2 ports, should you be able to blow through it? Im trying to diagnose my wife's 97 lude and im able to blow through it, wondering if its a bad EGR valve or not
