I know whats up with it but I cant source the parts so when I get bored im gonna look at the layout and find an alternative part (part meaning electronic component)
Cool bet that wasnt the first hes done usefull to watch as i might have tried removing stereo with pins not torx so the newer model does fit and back plate would be black
I bought a replacement unit off a guy in Swansea on the bay. It was plug and play. It cost £90, but was well worth it and was incredibly easy to fit as he also provided a video guide.
Seems like the ribbon cable is dodgy from the description the polish guy put in another post.
The old hot air gun might have to come out at the weekend..
Didn't look like he needed it re-coding on the video or did he have the replacement already done?
it is to do with the power to the leds not the ribbon, there is some surface mount voltage regulators on the pcb and its them that are failing either that or the leds are fauling and drawing too much current, try swap the leds on the pcb and see if that fixed the problem
Mine only fades when the heating is on hot, other then that it's fine.
