Peugeot 308 sw diesel 2011.

Intermittent fault: Loss of electric momentarily...radio goes off, date on dash goes back to 2007...Power steering fault message (and steering goes hard), ABS icon and red STOP word on display.

After 2 seconds it all comes right again. This sounds familiar after reading these forums.

AA guy came to home and checked it over but could find nothing as it was all ok then. The power steering and ABS icon disappear after the 2 seconds, but the STOP word stays on till you arrive at your destination and turn the car off. Then its gone.

I have today discovered that it happens when I do a very sharp right hand turn! Not just a bend in the road but going right on a mini roundabout or in my case today... twice while doing 3 point turns into a road on the right.

SO does that look like a duff connection near one of the wheels? Are there electrical wires and connections that come from the ECU down to the wheels which we could reach to check?

Would it be beneficial to diagnostics if I could go somewhere spacious and see if I carried on going round in the small circle if it stayed on? ie, does it go back to normal anyway straight after... or is it because I straighten out the wheels?

Any help appreciated guys. :thumb:

Similar thing happened to me recently on my 61 plate 308.

Iwas simply the battery was dying and the low voltage caused several ECU's to report false errors due to severely low electrical supply. The power steering issue could well be due to a failing battery if it is an electric pump rather than one driven by a belt.

A new battery and all was well with mine.

We took it to Halfords this morning to get them to check the battery.
The AA man checked it but Im not sure if he did it well.
My husband rang and said the voltage was fine but the ampage was only half what it should be.

So we have bitten the bullet and got a new one ..£119!

Here's hoping that was MY problem too!

Thanks for your input :thumb:
