Hi
Just bought a 207 sw - unfortunately it is too high to drive in the garage without the aerial clipping the door frame.
Do you think I would be able to bend tthe aerial without loss in quality - or trim a couple of inches off - it has no adjustable rake
Or is it made from a material that does not bend
regards

207 sw s aerial

Hi
No answers forthcoming so I went ahead and cut 100mm off the length of the aerial and capped it off with a rubber protector off one of those radiator clothes dryer hangers and it works a treat. And NO the aerial does not bend
the original length was approx 17 inches and now approx 13 inches
regards

Hi,
On an FM aerial, it probably won't make that much difference. You just will loose stations in hilly areas.
It would be better to buy a shorter style. Look on ebay for "beesting" aerials - they're only 6-8", but have the antenna the correct length for FM reception.

The Old 205 used to have a very long aerial - but had a hinged base - so it laid almost flat above the roof.

TBH - these long rigid aerials are a pain for garage users.
