So surfing found that owners are indeed putting 20's on their ride
My question is what offset is being used
I note that on a site noting vehicle PCD is states
235/40R18 8Jx18 ET40 so a 40mm offset using a 235
Does it follow that to get a 265 under it that a 35 mm offset would be used.

Anyone out there been thru this exercise
Of course a 30% profile will be used to keep the rolling diameter the same as a 235/40/18

As i remember it a lower offset measurement = the rim "pokes out" further so an ET40 rim may be flush with the arches but an ET35 rim would stick out by 5mm (as an example!)

Deep dish rims tend to have a low offset, van rims/black cab rims have a high offset.

Just for some orientation.

Stock 18s come with 235/45/18.
Stock 19s come with 235/40/19.
I did see an option for 20s in Peugeot dealers (very rare) with tyres 235/40/20, regardless of the downsize.
By that logic 20s will go as 235/35/20

I'm running 245/40/18 atm on stock 18s and they fit good.
I had 255/40/18 too, so don't worry about rubbing.

I was honestly tired of listening to "you must run 235/45/18 bla bla or it will rub" from mechanics. 2 years so far, no problems.
