Noticed this a few times now that when driving along at a steady speed and constant revs around 2000 rpm the needle will drop down to zero for upto 30 seconds

Is this a common fault? anyone got a solution please? where does the feed come from to supply the dash, is it the speed sensor?

i think they are all electronically controlled so might not be a rev counter cable, not 100% but someone with more knowledge than me will be able to tell you more.
i had an old 306 with the rev cable that was attached to the back of the gearbox and ran up through the bulkhead to the dashboard.
if you can get it on peugeot planet it might tell you on there but again not 100% sure if it can.
hope this info is of some help.
