Car: 308cc 2009, fitted with RD4 MP3.
No Bluetooth/Hands-free fitted as standard.
I have just retro fitted Peugeot Bluetooth/Hands-free. Which involves fitting Hands-free ECU and microphone, and enabling in Diagbox.
The phone calling side all works ok, but not able to stream music from phone through stereo.
I have read that it maybe because I have an early model ECU, which doesn’t support the audio side of it.

I originally bought one of the later ECU’s, but it was not recognised by the car, and the wiring connections are in the wrong place. On the later models, the connection is in the centre of the ECU on the earlier models it’s on the end.

So my question is, can you update the firmware on the older ECUs to allow audio streaming?

Hi,
I'm interested in doing this to my 2011 308CC. Can you tell me more about how you did it? I'm interested to know what wiring I'd have to do, and what pins on the ecu connector do what. Also, how do you enable the car to recognise the ecu (I'm guessing you need to find someone with Planet??)

Do you think I'll need the "later model" ecu?

Thanks in advance!

Very easy, you need to be able/capable to remove armrest/center consul radio trim and trim above windscreen to fit microphone.
If the loom is by the handbrake, which mine was, apart from plugging in the microphone, no other wiring to the car is needed. Needs to be added by PP.
You will need the later version ECU which should mean you can stream music ect from your phone. Like this one. PEUGEOT 207/308 07-13 BLUETOOTH ECU CONTROL UNIT MODULE 9666827980 NAB103 | eBay

I still have the new version ECU somewhere, so if you decide to go ahead, and need to get one, let me know.
I used the Peugeot instructions for removing the trim from Peugeot Service Box, shows where all the hidden trim clips are and in what order to work.

The white block connector is the one you need for the ECU, located by the handbrake.

Great stuff, thanks.

If you don't mind, I have a few more q's...

1. Does your car have the JBL sound system? It's the bane of my life because pretty much all 3rd-party Bluetooth systems (Parrot etc) say they are incompatible with it. Hence my deciding to fit the Peugeot box.

2. I can't seem to register for Peugeot Service Box. There doesn't seem to be a way to sign up? Was removing the trims hard?

3. I'm guessing you bought the mic from a Peugeot dealer - how much was it?

No JBL. I got the "good" version of Service Box with the DIagbox system I bought. I don't think the online free version allows you to see the manual.
The mic I got from ebay, listed as a Citroen model I think.

If someone can tell me the best way to post the Service Box pages concerned ,I will post them on here. I have them saved on my laptop somewhere.

I'd be very grateful for those pages.

And yes, if I go for it, I'll gladly take your spare ECU off your hands. Just PM me with a price.

Is this the mic you bought?
CITROEN C3 PICASSO 09-15 ROOF MICROPHONE 9656164180 | eBay

Before I go ahead, I need to find out somehow if this will work with my car's JBL sound system. I don't suppose there's any point in asking a dealer???
I'll try to PM you the fitting files.
You can try and ask a main dealer, but I wouldn't hold out much hope.

That's the same mic I got

I bought a microphone and a Bluetooth ecu.
My 207 has a location for the microphone next to the light and a cable with the appropriate connector next of it.

I cant find where the cable of the microphone connector leads to and where is located the big white connector for the Bluetooth ECU.I have checked in the middle console and the below steering column. I also noticed that the connection on the part B of the RD4 connector are the 4 10 and 11 for the aux IN1

I would appreciate if someone helps me

Hi Lempidis. I know your question was some time ago but no one appears to have answered and I am going through the same process. There seems to be almost no information about installing the Original OEM Bluetooth modules - Even Peugeot garages seem to only offer aftermarket Parrot kits which seems strange when the wiring already appears to be in the loom on the better models !!??

I also have a 207 (yr2007) and trying to fit the OEM Bluetooth module.

Like you the wiring for Microphone, Bluetooth Module and Radio Connection all appear to be in the loom.

Microphone fitted easily (acquired off eBay - Peugeot or Citroen are the same)

Bluetooth Module appears to be fitted above the Glove Compartment and requires a plastic mounting bracket (Peugeot garage charged me £6) that clips on the top of the metal bracket that supports the Glove Compartment box. Breakers always seem to forget to keep this part when the remove the Bluetooth module or if they do they tend to break the plastic mounting lugs !! The cable for the module is just to the right of the fuse box on right hand drive cars. Getting the Glove Compartment out is fun but not impossible - In fact you only have to drop it out of the way, not remove it completely.

My Bluetooth module has the USB socket so to use this you also need the USB cable that was attached to the module. This can be routed to the Centre Console Switch Panel and I have exchanged mine for the one with the USB socket included (another eBay purchase).

You should also have a Aux Plug coming from the loom behind the Radio as the Bluetooth Module uses one of the the Aux inputs to feed the sound to the speakers. In my car the Aux input was already in use by another Box that had been installed in the Glove Compartment. I will probably remove this.

Once all the boxes are in place and plugged into the loom then hopefully you just have to enable them using DiagBox !!

Once I have mine working I will publish full instructions and Photos to this site so other people can do the same.
