Tried to reset one of the members additive counters this morning but PP wouldnt recognise the ECU and hence no ability to reset. It sent me through various screens to manually select transmission etc but then wouldnt proceed

Bit of history , Phil whos car it is says that he took the car for a service and they told him the tank was empty even though he has had no low level warnings on etc so he has refilled him self and i was going to reset the counter. To date no level warnings or lights on.

Car is a 2008 2.0 HDI 407 - Any help would be appreciated :thumb:

(Iv reset mine on the 1.6 Hdi 307 previously with no problems)

Been having a look on my 407 as I've been asked to reset counters on a couple of cars this week and it seems to be the following method.

test by ecu
engine/gearbox
diesel fuel additive control unit
configuration
manual configuration
cleaning or replacement of pef (counter 1)
then
filling reservior, lighting of the low additive level warning light (counter 2)

When entering counter 1 & 2 reset it only gives the option to set to zero.
then check counters in engine are at 0.

Cris.

I'm told each car could be slightly different!!

Cheers Chris , tried this way and it gave three options based on engine type , selected correct one from VIN and it said not recognised so went through all the 6 speed box 2.0 diesel etc and at the end it just went back to the initial screen.

Would not proceed from there on.......

Was thinking that i may need to load the more upto date software version of Planet that i have whats your thoughts?

Strange that he hasnt had any warnings whatsoever so iv just basically said i would run it until a warning came on and then take it from there.

Did you do a global scan first and if so did all ecu's reply?

Could be planet what version you running, but I would guess it's your cables & interface.

I'm assuming you've a clone from china, I have read that some don't work well with some cars made after 2008.
Mine doesn't read some 307's but everything else is fine but I knew this when I bought it.

Yeah , all ECU's replied on the global scan. Im running the original version .14 i think it is but i have .23/.24 i think it is. I was going to update it this week with the new disc.

It just puzzled me as they all replied on the global scan

I have also seen that some newer vehicles 08 and 09 etc dont work very well , ad yes its a cheap chinese jobby but for the money its a cracker :thumb:
