Hi all, thanks again for your help/input , these forums are amazing.

I have had an issue with my Peugeot for a while, Ive been working on it on and off and recently getting back into it.

Ive decided to try out a ecu kit to determine if my bsi and ecu are stuffed.

(history of car) Peugeot 307 HDI xsi 2.0l TD. It has an issue with non starting and not recognizing the gearbox/being in limp mode and having huge network issues.

I have got my self a new ecu kit, consisting of: Ecu, bsi, key & transponder.

I have connected it all up, it recognises the key but as soon as it does.

The wipers start going continously without stopping and headlights stay on and inside the dash is flashing as if an alarm is going off.

ignition on and off, door opening, opening door with key/ bsi reset still dont work.

Am i missing something here? or is the kit say faulty?

Any input would be awesome!!!

Cheers, much appreciated, Moe

Cool! Thanks for the reply!

Okay I've got a pp (I'm noob but will try it) see what I can do.

I actually thought it was the alarm module as another kit I saw had an alarm module as well as key, transponder, bsi and ecu.

So they both should have a starting with 96? Or exactly the same number?

I can also post pics.

All help is greatly appreciated, cheers

Hey again,

Okay, so i have tried to connect pp2000 diagbox and all other diag tools and there is no communication whatsoever with any module.

Which is very strange because my old bsi, ecu , key and transponder had faults etc but it would communicate fine.

I know my car has gremlins but yeah no communication whatsoever with new bsi/ecu kit.

As for the 96 numbers.

On the ecu, there are two sets of 96 numbers

SW & HW

The HW number matches however the SW doesnt.

This also applies to the bsi (the numbers dont match)

Any direction as to where to go next is greatly appreciated!

cheers

Okay, problem solved! cheers! will be returning set and getting another one!

Just to confirm though,

Do any other numbers need to be matching?

Example HW or SW on ecu or is it just the bsi 96 numbers that need to be matched?

Is there anyway to say keep the miles/kms and vin from old bsi/ecu set and transfer them?

am i able to do that with the pp2000/lexia?

Cheers,

the hw 96 number needs to match

if the bsi and ecu set has lower miles it will take the miles that is on you clocks, if the miles is higher in the clock this will set the miles in the bsi, so if your clocks have already jumped up from fitting the bsi/ecu set then you need to also swap the clocks at the same time as the bsi/ecu

the only way you could keep everything the same ie vin.... is to clone the bsi and ecu you have but is the software is corrupt then the only other way is to virginise the replacement bsi and ecu and fit as new parts, you would need to get someone to virginise and you need planet to program back to car

the fault you had before you swapped them does sound a little like the bsi, you could try get your bsi virginised and then reprogram it using planet and see if that sorts it, i can virginise the bsi for you for £25 you just need someone with planet and you will need the 4 digit pin (sometimes i can extract this before virginising)

Okay i'll keep that in mind.

Thanks for the reply quite helpful :)

Pity because my pug had fairly low k's , basically now the clock has taken the higher k's and will need a new clock. would this change if it is virginised both ecu and bsi?

I'm not sure if what i'm thinking of virginise is correct? will you need to have my bsi on hand? both old and new?

I have pp not sure how to get 4 digit though, still learning it.

I would be happy to sort out the issue I currently have !!! haha, quite a nightmare.

If you had to have my current bsi and the new one that would be hard as I am located quite far away.

Cheers, mohammed

virginise is where i load a virgin file on it so its like you bought a new bsi, you then use planet to setup the bsi and you would need the 4 digit pin to do this (you do it as though its a new bsi)

virginising the bsi and or ecu would not sort the mileage unless you change the clocks too, the mileage is stored in the bsi and the clocks

I would be happy to virginise an ecu and bsi for my car

So now my clock will show the highest mileage even if i resort back to my old bsi and ecu??
as if it is permanently stored?

Could i PM you? Is there a way to get a bsi and ecu virginised and sent to me? lol.

I was going to get it from ebay.

Thanks trustme, appreciate it.

Thats a bummer! I didn't know it would save :(. Thats okay, more interested in car working at the moment lol :D

If i bought new clocks from peugeot it then would take the bsi's mileage?

I would be interested in purchasing a virginised ecu and bsi.

Would you be able to do that?

Thanks a lot trustme, I appreciate it

Cheers, Mohammed

Hey Trustme, you were spot on with the gearbox issue. although it was the gearbox TCU.

My issue now is fixing up the k's and needing to virginise my BSi and reset my dash. Is that possible?

I've got the data to show before and after plugging in an ecu kit which did the damage,,,,pretty dumb of me.

Ill PM you.

Cheers
