ive heard remove DPF and remap can increase around 50hp is this true ?

Also.....can map be done via laptop / mobile - - are there any reliable sources with the file already done to be flashed on having a standard 407 2.0 hdi …..I know with performance cars like I have one aswell youd always remap specifically to that car but with a standard diesel does anyone use someones map and reflash can this be done at home ? thanks

Removing the DPF is illegal and it will fail the MOT.
Also you will have to declare any tuning mods to your insurance company.

There are a few remap files around for dpf delete etc. They are software version dependant as well as engine. You would need to check or download ecu for hardware/software version and then get the correct file. There is a thread on here about DPF delete.

Dependant on year of your car DPF could have been fitted prior to legal requirement or Euro Emission standard and therefore would not be listed and testable on the MOT (eg my old 2003 2.0 HDI 307)

If you plan on staying around an brief intro in the Introductions tread would be good

hi sorry.... so basically I have a Subaru and rebuilding engine just picked up this Peugeot as a run about body work is shit but nevermind...interior front seats ruined...…

ive managed to get full set of leather seats doorcards etc £45 but now it seems maybe they don't fit on SW SE :/ ? not sure how to connect...…

and the thing about the remap my question was I saw you can Remap through OBD port.....so was curious if I could do this at home with a file and laptop or mobile rather than pay £150 as heard its quite simple to go from 135 to 170bhp and 70lb torque on top too aswell as better fuel economy so was interested in learning.....thanks guys

Yes removing DPF and remapping gives you more power no doubting that BUT as for getting better fuel economy i dont think thats the case it also puts much more strain on clutch etc and having a subaru you will know about clutch issues :)

I have a remapped clio and a standard clio both same 80hp model both same age remapped car came to me as is and yes it IS faster quicker through gears better overtaking etc etc but fuel economy is WORSE than the standard car by a long way.

You say its better for the engine to remove the DPF that i dont believe a car with a DPF driven properly is perfectly reliable most DPF issues are due to people not understanding them or not filling the fluid up causing the DPF to become clogged my 307 had over 200k miles on its original DPF
