So gave my car a good run down to Wales, and noticed under hard acceleration that it smokes. What would be a remedy for this? I know it could do with service and that it has a new EGR valve, DPF removed - just never had before on last diesel.

I have stuck some fuel cleaner in - but a bit lost really as car drives well.

Cheers

Only solution i can see is get the petrol version as all diesels smoke under hard acceleration unless the smoke is excessive i wouldnt worry

Check air filter is ok. Blocked filter will cause smoke so will a poor remap. Sports filter in original airbox is always a good way to get a small power gain and reduce smoke I find

Yeh, keep meaning to check air filter as if it's anything like the fuel filter, I could Tarmac a road with it.

Oil has been drained, but could there still be excess along the system, and would it eventually burn away?

I felt like a red arrow last night performing a night maneuver ;)

Cheers for responses

what you need to remember with any diesel it always gulping vast quantities of air as it doesnt get throttled like a petrol engine does so air consumpsion is really important.
