Anyone else having issues with their radio? Mines "unusable".

I can get a long list of DAB stations but they cut in and out every 5 secs so I cannot listen to it.

Tried going to FM and it only has the strength to pick up Wave105. Now, nothing against that radio station but its not entirely my cup of tea.

I had DAB problems with the QQ but after a few months they released a software update and it solved it.

Anyone else with issues? I live in Bournemouth so its not like the Outer Hebrides or anything.

Absolute opposite, i was stunned at just how good the reception was, even in a multi story car park. Think i have had one drop out since i took the car TBH. What radio station are you listening too maybe it depends on the transponder location, i listen to planet rock BTW don`t know if i makes any difference though.

Its all the DABS....they all drop out. When I say all I've been through about 10 different stations. Some broadcast local and others across the south.

I think mine has an issue as it cant even pick up FM as mentioned.

yes you can. From that question I guess you didn't get the car from your local dealer? I'd use someone close to you if you can as I expect you'll have to make more than one visit especially if it turns out to be a dodgy unit.
Hopefully it'll be something simple such as a loose cable/connection.

I did buy a car from Westover in Poole. They seemed quite good and knowledgeable about the 508 I bought. Can't speek for the service people but they was OK in front of house.

Is there an option to perform a search and store for stations on it? Could be that it was set up in a different area so you need to do another search to see which stations are available in your area?
I know I have to do this periodically with the radios at home as they keep changing frequencies etc, sometimes they inform you in advance but most of the time they don't.
Worth a try if you haven't tried it already

Your problem could be a dodgy aerial, I was having similar problems on my older FM only radio in my 307. I replaced the aerial pod on the roof and it was far better. There is an amplifier in the base, and if that's not working properly you get no reception.
I am assuming both FM and DAB use the same antenna.

But as the car is new and leased, it should all be covered under the warranty, which you can use at any Peugeot dealer.

I think I read somewhere that the radio aerial is actually also the rear window heater, you could check if that is working also ???
That's correct! I have recently driven through France and found all the stations as usual, FM only because DAB doesn't exist or if it does it's a different system.

Pressing list on the steering wheel brought up all the available stations as I passed from one reception area to another so no problems for me. It sounds as though there is a fault on yous system so I imagine you need to visit a dealer as has already been mentioned.

Just going to throw this in but is your radio in scan mode.

I say this as in a 406 I once had, if it was in scan mode it played a station for 5 seconds then the next for 5 seconds etc until you pressed a numbered button to accept it/store it.

Worth checking.

Mine isn't as bad as yours Cherries but it does cut in and out every so often but I've put it down to how strong the signal is. I tend to listen to Smooth and Radio 2 on DAB or FM or Magic only on DAB and they all do it. I've also saved the stations as preset ones.

I don't know if this applies to you, but those problems can also be caused by using a usb power adaptor in the front 12v socket. In the main its the cheap plastic type that cause the radio to keep cutting out. I have only found one type so far that definitely works without affecting the radio, and thats a metal one -RAVPower Dual USB Car Adaptor.

If you are using a usb adaptor, then simply unplugging it will test if its the problem.

If not, then it does sound like you have a definite fault, as like most of the others on here my radio signal is really strong in my 3008 - much better than the rubbish one I had in the new 308 which had difficulty picking up even local stations

Travelling from West Yorks to Cornwall I had no problems with the DAB stations until I got off the beaten track to places like Tintagel and Port Issac. Once I got back away from the coast it was fine.

Still sounds like you need to return it then, surely choosing between radio and being able to charge your phone shouldn't be normal.

If he's only using the inbuilt USB port there shouldn't be an issue, and if there is , then yes it need to be returned.

My post was regarding the use of a separate USB adapter thats plugged into the 12v cigarette lighter port. Those are the ones that cause trouble unless you use metal ones.

The cheap plastic ones are notorious for interfering with in car radio signals. Ive had this on my 3008 with symptoms just like the above.

Changing to a metal adapter cured it.
