Morning all.

I don't know if anyone remembers me posting a couple of threads previously re my car juddering / surging and lagging. Unfortunately I still haven't managed to find the problem. Peugeot want to charge me god knows how much just to investigate so bugger that! It almost seems like the engine is cutting out for a split second then kicking backing into life, hence seems like it's juddering. Chatting with a work colleague, they've advised it could well be a misfire. If this is the case, would this have showed up as a fault on planet? I've recently done a global scan which showed no faults.

It's recently been serviced so oil and filter, fuel filter etc all changed. No improvement.

My car is 307 S 1.6 HDi 110, 2007.

Cheers,
Math

when i had a timing belt related misfire in my 307...it showed even on the generic code readers. it even tells you what cylinder. i would assume you would have the same. :thumb:

sorry cant edit previous.

i did some reading and apparently diesels dont misfire...but either go or stop completely.

they say the most common reason is blocked injectors, has to be cleaned by ultrasonic methods or a worn out injector.

they then say a pipe could be cracked or leaking air.

and finally they say valves or rings and to get a compression check carried out.

heres the site, What causes a diesel engine to misfire? - Yahoo! UK & Ireland Answers

hope this helps :thumb:

I cant remember where it is on planet, but theres a bit that tells you the amount of correction the car is doing on each injector

If there is someone with planet in your area get a scan done and see if one or more of them are heavily biased, that'd point to dodgy injectors

Hi, thanks for all the replies.

I have ordered some of that 'wynns egr' stuff that John advised me to some time ago as it's quite cheap. See if that helps at all.

If it is turbo related, stevosxi, would a fault not have shown on planet?

If the egr spray doesn't work I'm going to take the motor to a diesel specialist, see if it might be the injectors. Cheers

My turbo repeat sensor was giving problems leading to jerky performance but I think it did bring up a code in fairness.
