Hi,

last night I went to drive home from work, and once I’d started the engine before I could even move away I was met with a warning message on the dash saying “Power Steering Fault” and the icon was illuminated on the dash.
I did not move the vehicle anywhere, and called the AA.
They have been out, and they have suggested it may be the power steering motor that needs to be replaced, but this needs to be checked by the garage.
Before I get it to the garage, does anyone have any idea at what kind of price I’m going to be looking at?
I have a 60 plate, 207. 1.4 engine.
Thanks guys!

Don't know an exact price, but they should check everything electrical first. While the motor or ecu can fail, it can be as simple as the relay. The wireing harness are a fair bit exposed to the road, may need a good clean. Wires can also run close to the driveshaft too, just worth checking that they are out of the way, clipped up, and not been rubbing on it.
Though I think the motors were a known fault, so a reconditioned motor is about £150+ for a start, depending what needs replacing. As
