I knew that Fiat has a sytem call "audit trail" or somehing like that.

The system record every problem in real time with the engine, or any system in the car.

Then in the garage is possible to find out the problem when they conect the car to a kind of computer. Eventually this information is transfered to a database in some place in the FIAT in France, so an history is created for this particular car.

I want to know if there is a similar system in Peugeot?

If yes, when you have a problem, how long this is stored in the comupter memory of the car? Somebody told me that 3 days, is this true?

Is this problem transfered to any database and storaged.

Is porssible to get the history of your car?

Thanks for your time

When the peugeot tech plugs in the laptop any fault will have been stored in the ecu. This will tell him everything, to the best of my knowledge the faults will be stored for a lot longer than 3 days.

I don't pretend to be an expert in these matter by any stretch of the imagination but I used to have a Rover 75 and was told that the fault will remain in the ECU for as long as the fault is there. Only after the fault has been rectified will it 'drop off' so to speak from the memory.

I am sure I will be corrected if I am wrong and welcome that correction.
