Hi,

I bought peugeot 308 sport, 2008 model, 7 months ago from a peugeot dealer. A few eeks ago it started losing power and took it back to the dealer for a diagnosis. they diagnosed an engine flush which surprised me as car is petrol and only has 20k miles on the clock. Had the flush doen but now an error message has come on the display ' depollution system failure'.

can anyone help? has anyone heard of this problem before?

thanks in advance

Scott

Hi, it doesn't state a fault code on the display. my main worry is why does the car need an engine flush so early on in it's life.

I reckon that was a waste of time. Get someone to read the fault codes off it and post them up here.

Go to another dealer, get a second opinion.
Or go to a good specialist.

No. Go to a main dealer or a good Peugeot Specialist who knows what they're at and knows the problems with these cars.

Yeah, go to a good Peugeot specialist and get it looked at. So many things it could be it's not even worth trying to guess.

Have you last eight numbers of chassis. Servicebox looking for chassis to narrow search of P code.

Ok. There is information on this specific fault code.

What is required is.

1. Engine ecu download.
2. Fuel system cleaner into fuel and a road test.
3. Change of oil and filter.

Your dealer will have access to the same info I've just found. There is an info flash specific to it.

Every single manufacturer have these type of problems. If you owned a BMW you'd probably have same grief. It comes with the territory with cars nowadays. They are so finely tuned for emissions regulations. Only takes something small to put a light on.

By the way your engine is a BMW engine!!
