Hey all, newbie here :)

My wife's 307 has just failed mot today on account of nearside rear shock lower bush knackered.
I have bought new pair of shocks, I've done front shocks on other cars but never rear.
does anyone have experience?

Thanks in advance.

Jack car up and put suitable support under sill jacking point.
Take wheel off.
Very slightly jack up rear wheel hub to take weight of shock.
Undo bottom shock to axle bolt.
Undo the 2 bolts on top shock mount.
remove shock.

remove top mount from old shock and fit to new one.

revers process to re fit.

Hope this helps.

Many thanks greegor, I thought it was more or less as you described, is the top mount undone from under the car or in boot area?
Also, will I struggle to remove top mount from shock with just hand tools?

Thanks

I had to replace the top mounts as I couldn't remove the nuts from the shock absorber shafts. There weren't any flats on the shafts for a spanner to prevent the shaft from turning with the nut. Had to cut the shafts of the old shocks with an angle grinder so I could remove & re-use the dust caps and bump stops as the new shacks didn't come with them.

Hey all, thanks for chipping in!
All sorted now, took me about an hour and a half.
Biggest bit of the job was separating top mount from shock as I couldn't stop shaft from spinning, ended up grinding flats on shaft so I could get mole grips to grip.

Easy job
