Hi I have a 2016 peugeot boxer 2.2 hdi 335 professional, it's on 164000 miles now. Recently had an issue with starting the van doesn't matter if its hot or cold out, if it's been running or not. I've replaced the starter motor and battery as starter was burnt out. And I just uprated the battery while I was there. It will crank every time just won't fire. But will fire every time with a boost pack on it. I work in plant machinery so I've tried multiple batteries, drop tests, battery tests, replaced leads, cleaned and treated terminals, nothing seems to help. The voltage drop is to about 10.6v during cranking. So it's not pulling down too low. I have thought about crank sensor maybe not seeing what it should for start up. Any ideas are welcome as it's becoming tiring now. Thanks

I think it has something to do with your key power connector. The same part where you put your keys in when you try to start your engine. It probably doesnt send good enough power to the rest of the car to work well.

The starter gets a signal every time the ignition is turned ive already checked all that it never fails. Just doesn't fire up like its getting no fuel through. Sometimes starts first try sometimes needs a jump but always the same turning over for a minute first.

Have someone help you in the next thing. Remove one of the fuel lines that goes to your injector and have your friend crank the engine. See if the fuel line squirts. Or when it squirts. Right from the beginning...or close to the moment when it wants to start.

If it squirts right from the beginning all the time regardless how much you crank, then it cant be sensor issue. If it doesnt squirt at all, then you can move to the next step.

Then the sensor problem is very likely. It could be not just crankshaft sensor, but camshaft sensor too if you have it. Camshaft sensor also checks if crankshaft and camshaft is in sync.

New update. Its now got EML randomly coming on, hill assist an esp unavailable at random not together with EML light, and goes into limp mode. Resetting key will clear all for temp fix. Fuel consumption has probably more than doubled and it smokes like a trooper. Any clues as I'm about to drop an excavator bucket on it I've had enough.

The only reason I can think off with so many unrelated system going bonkers at once...is electrical power grounding problem. I think it might help to tie a cable between battery negative end with a metal pole of some kind outside of the car. See if it makes any difference.
